5 of 5 Great Phragmipedium March 28, 2015
Reviewer: Brian from Raleigh, NC United States
I hope Seattle Orchid will provide other shipping options than USPS. USPS 2 - 3 day delivery means 5 - 7 day delivery 1/2 the time. This plant sat in the Kent, WA facility for 3 days.

Shipping aside, I'm very happy with the plant. It was in bloom when I got it, the bloom was damaged in shipping (thanks USPS), I don't blame Seattle Orchid for this, it was packaged well.

For anybody wondering how a hybrid like this compares to Memoria Dick Clemments, here's what you can expect. QF Maria is a more compact grower with wider leaves, and a slight reddish blush on the foliage. It has smaller, lighter colored flowers with a more orange cast. This hybrid should have more flowers per spike (keeping in mind that it's a sequential bloomer), and more likely to produce branched spikes once mature.

The plant I received is a first bloom seedling, in great health. The spike has a small branch on it already, so I was happy to see that, and the foliage is nice and wide.
