Ponerorchis graminifolia (these are miniature orchids, approx. only 4"-5" tall), cool to cold growing species. Blooming size plants. These are a miniature. First picture shown is a more mature plant, second picture are current blooming..Old growth has no leaves, plant is deciduous. These are grass like, little plants and only grow to approx. 6" tall. Bloom coloring can vary from plant to plant and are not going to be exactly like the picture shown. From Purple/white as shown, to Purple/spotted, Pink/spotted.
Will tolerate a very light freeze only if well mulched. They like bright light, but not much sun, and high humidity. Water generously while in flower (June and July), then back off a bit while still keeping them moist until dormancy sets in. They like a long growing season from late April to late October. Fertilize with a weak solution every few weeks, until September and then back off. By mid November they should be dormant. The temperature in winter should be above freezing with an average temperature of less than 10 C (50 F). Their cold hardiness is questionable, USDA zone 8-9.
